About the Suito Kurawanka Fireworks Festival
The Suito Kurawanka Fireworks Festival is held primarily across the cities of Hirakata, Takatsuki, and Katano in Osaka Prefecture.
Uniquely, the number of fireworks launched reflects the number of children born in the previous year in the host municipalities.
Guided by the vision of building a fireworks festival that endures for a century, we hope to pass on to future generations the very scenery that has framed so many of your cherished memories.
Launch Count: Local Births in Hirakata, Takatsuki, and Katano & Memorial Tributes
In addition to reflecting the previous year’s number of births in Hirakata, Takatsuki, and Katano, the festival also includes memorial fireworks to honor those who have passed.
Continuing to hold the festival fosters the community’s growth while nurturing a spirit of remembrance.
Together with the region, we will keep launching fireworks—guided by our philosophy of a “fireworks festival that lasts for 100 years.”

Cancellation Criteria
Decisions to cancel will be based on the following criteria.
- If a weather warning (heavy rain, storm, or flood) is issued for Hirakata City or Takatsuki City
- If an earthquake of seismic intensity 3 or higher (JMA scale) occurs in Hirakata or Takatsuki and causes significant infrastructure impact
- If the Kinki Regional Development Bureau’s river-use suspension criteria are met
※ Even if skies are clear at the venues on the day, the festival may be canceled if rising water levels are expected on the Yodo River or its tributaries.
